inner Buddah

If you think this applies to you then it probably does.

There some old saying that goes something like, "Before you judge a man, you must walk a mile in his moccasins." Remember that? Well, think about it for a while. Or the story that Tich Nhat Hanh, the vietnamese Buddhist monk tells about a refugee girl who was raped and then jumped off the boat and killed herself. Sure, it's easy to empathise with the girl. Can you empathise with the rapist? What must his life have been like to drive him to that? I have been raped, and yeah, it's fucking hard, isn't it? It's hard to give up your ideas of concrete good and bad and see other people's pain. Can you look at someone you're angry at and see goodness? Can you look at them and see yourself? Can you look in the mirror and know that you are made of the same stuff as someone who hurt you? Look. Look untill you can see through someone else's eyes. Find understanding. Give a nod. Nothing is absolute.

Sometimes I can, sometimes I can't but fuck those who hurt others. They may deserve empathy, but they sure as hell aren't going to get mine.
