body request

Just as my brain made the request to focus on just one programming language, my body would like to make a request; two days of rest between running. It's fine that the program gives a plan, but I need to make adjustments for my body and my will to keep going. I can run harder and longer after two days of rest than one. Walking doesn't seem to be a factor, as I've been walking a lot. It's hard not to be disheartened when I can't follow the program that supposedly can take any couch potato to a runner in ten weeks. My body needs longer to build up to it and I am not a failure for taking the time I need. *repeat as necessary*

The new Java book Sylvan got for me is easier on my brain and I can follow it better. It's still challenging, but in a way that's more fun than hours of rote tech specs. I made a program that prints out 99 Bottles of Beer song and one that randomly generates knitting project ideas using color, fiber, and form variables. The code was copied, but I changed the variables to make it more interesting for me. That's the point. And linking this new skill to an existing skill that's fun for me helps to nudge the new skill into the 'fun' slot along with fiber crafting. :-)

Med change is helping. I have more energy and motivation already. Finally getting SSRI out of my system is happy news. I can get out of bed in the morning and I can sleep through the night and that's a better place than where I started the year.
