January 2013

I don't normally do resolutions, as I lack discipline.  But this year I am setting a weight loss goal.  I want to get back to 130 by April.  I think this is reasonable (a little under 30 pounds).  I have gained a loose support network and I want to start keeping track of what I eat and how much exercise I'm getting.  My areas of focus are portion control, exercise regularity, and not eating stupid shit just because everyone else around me is eating stupid shit.  Hoyce gave me money to do food shopping this week.  That's helpful for 2 reasons; I bought mostly vegetables (and cat necessities) and I had to carry it all (35ish pounds, I weighed it) up the 5 blocks uphill to the house.  I got veggies for snacking during game and got the kind of apples I like, and I'm pretty sure I'll have to go back to the store later this week, as I couldn't fit everything on the list.  Chris is bringing me rock climbing Thursday evening and I have DDR set up in my room.  I'll feel better, look better, and fit in my clothes better.  I used to be healthy and active and there's no effing reason I can't be again.

I'll join you, though 130 is an unreasonable goal for a 215-pound dude. I guess I have until Jan. 1 to figure out how much to lose. Not eating stupid shit just because everyone else around me is eating stupid shit sounds like an excellent plan. I probably shouldn't have bought a candy bar and Mountain Dew before reading your post :)

Step 1: set goal.

Step 1: Set Goal. Lose 20 pounds in 2012 while continuing to work out. Because muscle weighs more than fat, this will actually require losing more than 20 pounds of body fat.

There, I said it, and now I have to do it.
You got it.
Add me to your support network as I need a good kick in the ass, as well. xo
Will do!
Hi Jen, this is a FB group. We just did a 12 week challenge and are starting up a Round 2 after the holidays. I can add you if you want. Weekly weigh-ins and measurements, with the option of buying in to the prize pool or not.
Oh, sure! That would be cool :)
