led astray

I have been too busy/tired to sit down and give a decent account of the weekend till now. The party was a great, no hassle, relaxing, cozy time. (It was completely different from the last time I was there, which was a rockin, drunken, silly, zany good time, followed by an intimate bond with a porcelin beauty!) I saw people I haven't seen in a while, people I don't often get to talk to outside of NERO, and people I had never met before. People were in and out all weekend. I like that about several-day long parties. People are often available at different times, and the mood and scene stays fresh as the crowd ebbs and flows. Most of us did our time in the dungeon of pretties and flashing lights. There was food always, lots of laughter, lots of snuggling, and just a good all-around ok-ness. It was really nice to see some of the Haus folks again. Although we brought stuff to NPC, we were so relaxed we just couldn't imagine having to run around.

Sometimes I get really self-conscious at parties (less so when i'm drinking), even around people I know. I wonder if I am really wanted there, if I am wearing out my welcome, if I am making people uncomfortable, if I look fat when I sit. (Not that you guys care if I look fat, but it does cross my mind.) But this was pretty much free of that. It could have been me. It could have been the atmosphere. Who's to say. But there were a couple times I wondered if I would have acted differently if Eric hadn't been there. I find I think longer about what I'm going to say when he's around, and I'm not sure why. Like my filters are on overdrive.

A teacher just brought us by a box of Ghirardelli chocolate squares in a variety pack with a little bow on it and thanked us for our services this semester! And she wanted to dump a cheese danish on us too, so of course we accepted. Earlier a class next door offered us food in exchange for taking pictures of them. Last day of classes are great!
