led astray

brain goo

So I have stumbled on a problem I should have anticipated.  Mailing is a large part of my business.  That means going to the Post Office regularly.  This shouldn't be scary, but there it is, scaring me.  It's a 10 minute walk in an adorable neighborhood on a bright, pleasant day to do something I'm proud of.  So why don't I want to go?  Ok, it's early enough in the day that I can wait and work up to it and still be back before dark.

I have to quit smoking weed.  Fuuuuuck.

Not to enable you (though I totally get it and am the same way :) but if you use PayPal Multi-Order shipping you can print all your postage online, even regular First Class mail. You can also get Delivery Confirmation on FC packages and it's cheaper than at the PO - Priority Mail Delivery Confirmation is free since the number is already in their system. There's a handy application you can download that makes it a lot easier to save common shipment settings, or you can enter them individually right in PayPal.

Then, if you've got at least one package going Priority you can go to the USPS website and schedule a pickup at your address, then give the postal worker all outgoing mail, including First Class. You only need one not-first-class package to schedule a pickup.
I totally thought of that, and will do it once I have the volume that makes it worthwhile. for now I think I just have to suck it up.
