led astray

Thanksgiving went over well. There were 7 of us, and dessert for each. We had sooooooo much food. We started cooking Wednesday night, then again 10AM Thursday morning and went straight through till 4PM. It took 4 people that long to prepare all the food. 2 kinds of stuffing, 2 kinds of mashed potatoes, lots of veggies, and a metric assload of pie. It was a lot of work, but it was fun. No one fought or yelled, there were no family politics, and no screaming children that auntie refuses to discipline when they pull the cat's tail. It was quiet and calm and comfortable. *relieved sigh* The leftovers are almost gone. But I brought a couple pieces of pie to work with me to pawn off and get rid of it.

Went to RI to see my acting teacher in a play. I had a great time. Every time I see a performance it reminds me how much I want to do it. I enjoy it so much. Eric said I was glowing. Anyhow, we waited to see Wendy (my teacher) after the show and she looked happy to see me and gave me a hug and I introduced her to Eric and sylvanstargazer. She did a great job, imho. I hardly recognised her (she was playing a skank and had a shitload of makeup on and trashy clothes). The play produced a wide range of emotional responces from scene to scene (I laughed, I got teary eyed...) and was a good occupation of a couple hours (and the couple in the car to get there and back).

My "advisor" still doesn't have her special advising hours posted for registration, like she should have a week ago, and her regular hours are when I have class. And they won't let me register untill I get her signature saying that I told her which classes i'm taking and she approves. So I am thinking that if I go ahead and change my major, I can get an advisor from the Theatre department that might have more time for me. The English department is huge. The Theatre department, not so much. I'm eager to try out for the play next week. That reminds me that I need to go to Wendy's office and get a copy of the play so I can be familiar with it.
