*grumble*

Grrr.  I don't like laundry wars.  I understand that they happen when 3 apartments share 1 washer and 1 dryer.

Using money that isn't yours to dry your clothes is stealing.

I don't know why, but someone did just that.  While I was putting my next load in the washing machine (after having to go upstairs to get more quarters) the owner of the items in the dryer (still warm) came down and gave a heavy sigh that I had put her stuff on top of the machine.  Well, fuck you, lady!  I said very calmly, "I had set quarters here to dry my stuff.  When I came back they were gone."  She didn't reply.  Not wanting to turn something small and bad into something big and bad, I turned around and left.  I like my apartment and my roommates.  I disliked laundry wars.  But STEALING from me is not acceptable.  I understand mistakes happen and I might be more angry than this warrants.  I have worked hard to cultivate a safe home emvironment.

*deep breath*  I'm going to go back to my knitting and horror flicks now.

My building-neighbors will steal just about anything from the laundry room. Detergent, money, clothes... you name it. Fuckers. I've grown to take everything back with me, including hampers, when we wash in-building.

For the most part, we laundromat it nowadays. More honesty when there are a dozen people who can see when you're stealing, rather than the single-room "well no one will notice" scenario.
