gripe

Ok, this is none of my business.  I am not a mother and I don't intend to be.  But I read something today that made me *tsk*.  And, well, I feel like sitting in judgement.  This woman this morning posts to fb (one of those random people I met years ago and 'friend' is a loose association) wondering if 3 cups of coffee and some cheerios would have any affect on her fasting blood test this morning.  Several people told her that it of course mess up the fasting test if you're not fasting.  Her response was to be pissed that they should expect a nursing mother to fast.  So, maybe it's just me, but I think the 3 cups of coffee have a more negative effect on mother and child than waiting a couple more hours for breakfast.  I know I have no right to be upset about this, but it's easier in scope for me to manage than Japan.  I think tomorrow is going to be a long day of processing.

I agree with her that a nursing mother fasting is a bitch of a thing. That's why when I had to do fasting blood tests, they were done at 8am - before I would even normally have breakfast.

Coffee isn't so good while you're nursing (assuming she drinks caffeinated coffee).

She's got a right to be irked, but doesn't have the right to just mess with that blood test, either.
hehe Thanks. It's one of those things where she's right, but she's also very wrong.
